Minutes of Meeting for Worship for Business

Eleventh Month 10, 2002

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered in a regularly called Meeting for Worship for Business on the date above stated at the Merrimack Valley Day Care Center, Concord, NH.  Attenders and Members present were: Don Booth (M), Lois Booth, Recording Clerk Graham Chynoweth (M), David Freeman-Woolpert (M), David French, Natassa French, Rachel Goldman, Treasurer Ruth Heath, Jeanie Holt (M), Richard Kleinschmidt (M), Zane Knoy (A), Jean London (M), Jay Smith (M), Sarah Smith (M), Louise Spencer (M), Presiding Co-Clerk Rob Spencer (M).

The Meeting opened with prayerful silence and a reminder by the Presiding Co-Clerk that Meeting for Business is Meeting for Worship.

Minute 2002.1

11.1  Quarterly Meeting Nomination.  The Nominating Committee, by Lois Booth, nominated Jay Smith as this Meeting’s representative to the Dover Quarterly Meeting’s Nominating Committee.  The Meeting approved.

11.2  Don Booth to Iraq.  Ministry and Counsel Committee, by Jeanie Holt, reports that the Committee has found Don Booth clear to follow his leading to join, as way opens, a peace mission in Iraq.  Ministry and Counsel Committee encourages Don Booth to share with the Meeting his experience and the source from which he draws his strength, passion and commitment.  The Meeting endorsed the conclusions and request of the Committee.  The Meeting also expressed its support of Lois Booth and others in Don Booth’s family who will be impacted by his absence in his travels.  See Minute 2002.09.04 authorizing “special collection”.

11.3  Ministry and Counsel Expense Line Item Increased.  The 2002/2003 budget expense line item for Ministry and Counsel Committee was amended to be a total of $250.00.  See Minute 2002.10.2.

We adjourned after a period of silent worship purposing, with Divine assistance, to meet, 2nd First Day of next Month.
