Minutes of Meeting for Worship for Business

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting

Religious Society of Friends

9th Month 10, 2006

(As approved 10/8/06)

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered in a regularly called Meeting for Worship for Business, on the date above stated, at the Merrimack Valley Day Care Center, Concord, NH. Friends present were Graham P. Chynoweth, David Freeman-Woolpert, Dick Gerstenberger, Martha Gerstenberger , Ruth Heath (treasurer), Rich Kleinschmidt (recording), Jay Smith, Sara Smith (clerk).

The meeting was opened by the clerk with a period of worshipful silence. [Note there was no 8th Month Meeting for Business due to conflicts with Yearly Meeting.]

9.1  Minutes.  The minutes from 2006 7th Month were corrected and approved.

9.2  Ministry and Counsel.  The Committee is evaluating how midweek meetings at Havenwood should be scheduled.  Traditionally the meetings have been held 2nd Wednesdays at 6:30.  However, no one is available on that day this month.  The committee has arranged a film (Rufus Jones) and discussion at Havenwood later this month.

9.3  Housing Committee.  The housing committee has arranged for a news article in the Concord Monitor about Quakers seeking a new home.  Much of our time at the retreat (in two weeks) will be devoted to clarifying our leadings about a meeting house, and giving the Housing Committee direction for their continuing efforts.

9.4  Program.  After meeting on 9/24, Jay Smith will present a program on Food Security.

9.5  Membership.  Deane Kellison has met twice with a clearness committee to discuss membership.  Acting upon the recommendation of Ministry and Counsel, we welcomed Deane into membership.

The meeting ended with a period of worshipful silence, purposing to meet again on the second First Day of Tenth Month or at the call of the clerk.

Respectfully Submitted,

/s/ Richard Kleinschmidt, Recording Clerk

Accepted as the Approved Record,

/s/ Sara Smith, Clerk
