Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends

11th Month 09, 2008

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered in Meeting for Worship for Business at the Merrimack Valley Day Care Center in Concord, NH. Friends present were Mark Barker, Graham Chynoweth, Linda Peters, Kathie Urie, Don Booth, Lois Booth, David Freeman-Woolpert, Greg Heath (substitute recording clerk), Ruth Heath (treasurer), Sara Smith (clerk), Jay Smith.

The meeting was opened by the clerk with a period of worshipful silence.

11.1  Incorporator:  Graham Chynoweth was approved as one of the Incorporators of Concord Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends.

11.2  Incorporation Certificate:  Clerk Sara Smith presented a certificate of Good Standing for the Corporation from the State of New Hampshire and, the Articles of Incorporation.  Our NH business ID is number 604467.

11.3  By-Laws Presentation:  David Freeman-Woolpert and Graham Chynoweth presented the By-Laws recommended by the Housing Committee.

11.4  By-Laws Approval:  The Incorporators approved the By-Laws as presented.

11.5  Corporation Officers:  Friends approved the following officers: Sara Smith clerk, Ruth Heath treasurer, and Greg Heath recording clerk.

11.6  Corporation Assets & Obligations:  Friends agreed to accept the assets and obligations of the former unincorporated association of Concord Monthly Meeting.

11.7  Housing Committee Report:  A meeting last week between the AMTP and the Housing Committee provisionally resolved the outstanding issues relative to the joint use agreement and the Transfer of Property Agreement Some key members of the AMTP committee could not be present and their review will be needed. Important items discussed were the first rights of refusal on property sales, the definition of AMTP uses of the property and rental costs, and snow removal.

11.8  Roberta Nichols Memorial Meeting:  Plans for the Memorial Meeting for Roberta Nichols to be held at Havenwood on November 15 at 3:00 p.m. include arriving at 2:00 to setup the hall. David Freeman-Woolpert, Kathy Urie and Greg Heath agreed to be greeters.  Sara Smith offered to write the memorial minute.  Kathy will obtain a guest book and a bouquet of flowers.  David Freeman-Woolpert will ask Peter Chynoweth and/or Sara Freeman-Woolpert to handle the microphone.  Greg Heath offered that Ruth Heath would want to handle any needs around music.  Kathy Mercer and Jone LaBombard were suggested as individuals who could prepare the program and the clerk will contact them.

11.9  Madison Daniels Traveling Minute:  The Clerk read a letter from Flagstaff Monthly Meeting acknowledging receipt of our traveling minute for Madison Daniels and their joy in welcoming her.

11.10  AMTP Agreements:  The Meeting asked the Housing Committee to circulate the current draft of the Transfer of Property and Joint Use Agreements to seek comment.  The clerk is authorized to sign those documents when they are in final draft form and approved by the AMTP board.  If concerns arise among the membership after the documents are circulated, the clerk is asked to call a special meeting to seek approval from the full meeting.
