Minutes of Meeting for Worship for Business

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends

12th Month 09, 2007

(As approved 2/10/2008)

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered in a regularly called Meeting for Worship for Business at the Merrimack Valley Day Care Center in Concord, NH.  Friends present were Don Booth, Lois Booth, Graham P. Chynoweth, Ruth Heath, Rich Kleinschmidt (recording clerk), Linda Chynoweth Peters, Sara Smith (clerk)

The meeting was opened by the clerk with a period of worshipful silence.

12.1  Minutes.  The minutes of 11/11 were approved as circulated.

12.2  Housing Committee.  The committee has meetings planned with AMTP (Appalachian Mountain Teen Project) and with Don King (architect).

12.3  Treasurers Report.  The treasurer reported that $3,500 has been donated to our budget.  We asked the treasurer to remind people of our needs at the end of meeting for worship each week.

12.4  First Day School.  The First Day School class has been developing a web site to represent Concord Meeting.

12.5  Care of the Meeting Committee.  The committee responded to the request made last month (11.6) to consider how and when inactive members should be removed from membership.  The committee reported back that they were not clear to move forward with pruning the membership at this time.  The hope of the committee is that at least some of the inactive members will return to help us build our new home and that they may be inspired by our new worship space.

The committee will contact junior members who are approaching 25 [years old] and remind them that they should consider adult membership in a spiritual community near their current homes.

The committee will be starting a morning study group (Quakerism 101) in January.

Our meeting ended with a period of worshipful, grateful silence, purposing to meet again on the second First Day of First Month or at the call of the clerk.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Richard Kleinschmidt, Recording Clerk

Accepted as the approved record when signed,

/s/ Sara Smith, Clerk
