Minutes of Meeting for Worship for Business

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends

4th Month 13, 2008

(as approved 06/08/2008)

Concord (NH) Monthly Meeting gathered for a called Meeting for Worship for Business at the Merrimack Valley Day Care Center in Concord, NH. Friends present were Don Booth, Lois Booth, Linda Chynoweth Peters, Kate Daniels, Madison Daniels, Ruth Heath (treasurer), Greg Heath, Rich Kleinschmidt (recording clerk), David Mills, Jay Smith, Sara Smith (clerk), Rob Spencer, Kathy Urie.

The meeting was opened by the clerk with a period of worshipful silence.

4.1  Minutes.  The minutes of 3/2/2008 were corrected and approved.

4.2  Membership.  Last fall, Kate Daniels and Madison Daniels wrote to our Meeting, expressing their leading to join with us as full members.  A Committee of Clearness was duly appointed for each seeker [Minute 2007.9.3]. Today we received the reports from those two committees.  Each committee reached unity that is consistent with Divine Will for Kate Daniels and Madison Daniels to be recorded as members of our society.  We celebrated this occasion with a period of joyful worship.

4.3  Memorial Service.  On 7th Day, 5/3/2008 we will hold a memorial service at Havenwood to reflect upon the life of Adelaide Nichols.

4.4  Memorial Service.  The family of Dick Gerstenberger is planning a memorial this June in Lawrence Massachusetts.  They suggest that memorial donations be sent to the Des Moines Valley Friends Meeting.

4.5  State of Society.  The State of Society Report was approved as circulated, [attached]

4.6  Fundraising Committee.  The committee reported that they are planning to expand our circle of donors.

4.7  Housing Committee.  The committee reported that they have received preliminary approval from the Canterbury Zoning Board of Adjustment.  They are on the agenda to meet with the Canterbury Planning Board.  A percolation test has been conducted.  The porous soil allows us to have a very small leach field.

Our meeting ended with a period of worshipful, grateful silence, purposing to meet again on the second First Day of Fifth Month or at the call of the clerk.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Richard Kleinschmidt, Acting Recording Clerk

Accepted as the approved record,

/s/ Sara Smith, Clerk
